Lisa McDermott joined the American Red Cross in 2009 as a volunteer, helping out in the North County Branch office in Jupiter answering phones and providing assistance with their "Give Me Shelter" Event. She also worked a couple of nights in the cold shelters that were opened in January of 2010. In February 2010, Lisa was hired as the South County Branch Specialist.
Prior to joining the Red Cross, Lisa worked at Jupiter Academy for 6 years while attending college. She is a Florida Gulf Coast University Alumnus with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health and Health Education. During her junior and senior year of college, she founded an eating disorder awareness program for incoming freshman students.
